The Library in the Mansion contains about 10.000 volumes of very rare editions dating from 16th century until the present day, including manuscripts and other important documents. The library, one of the largest private libraries in the Ionian Islands, constitutes one of the most important exhibits. It is worth mentioning that great part of the books are written in French, Italian, English and German, especially those published during the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. It is important for the social and cultural history of the site to mention that this exceptionally interesting collection is not the result of the effort of one or more individual book collectors but has been formed by members of the family who studied and travelled Europe during the last four centuries.
